* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford and Missouri, including the following counties, Barry, Barton, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton and Vernon.
* WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 313 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - This includes the following low water crossings... Lost Creek at Highway CC, High School Branch at McCord Street, Hickory Creek at Coler RD, Buffalo Creek at Finch Drive and North Indian Creek at Orchid Drive. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
