UPDATE: Arrest Made in June 4 Shooting Investigation 
**This is an update to the previous Nixle message released regarding the June 4 shooting investigation near 525 S Broadway.**
Santa Maria, CA – On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at approximately 2:39 PM, Santa Maria Police officers responded to the area of 525 S. Broadway regarding reports of a shooting.
Officers arrived and located a juvenile victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where emergency medical treatment was provided.
Through witness statements, video evidence, and follow-up investigation, officers identified the suspect as a juvenile male from Santa Maria.
On Monday, June 8, 2026, Santa Maria Police patrol officers located and arrested the juvenile suspect at a residence in the City of Santa Maria. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The juvenile was arrested for attempted murder and booked into juvenile hall.
