Green Bay Police Investigate Weapon Call on Velp Avenue; Shots Fired, No Reported Injuries

The Green Bay Police Department is investigating a weapon call on the city’s west side with a report of shots fired and two fleeing vehicles.
 
On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, around 3:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Velp Avenue. On scene officers were told that two people were traveling in a silver SUV, when one person had exited the vehicle and got into another vehicle, a purple sedan. Moments later, shots were fired by another party, who has been identified, and both vehicles fled. The silver SUV was located in another jurisdiction within minutes of the reported incident.
 
Police are currently searching for the purple sedan and both drivers. The firearm involved in the incident has been recovered.
 
At this time, no injuries have been reported, and no arrests have been made.
