The Amarillo Police Department has received several calls and messages regarding text messages claiming to be from a court or legal authority. We want to assure the community that these messages are a scam.
If you receive a suspicious text, do not click any links, provide personal information, or send money. If you're ever in doubt, stop communicating, contact someone you trust, and verify the information through official channels. You can also contact your local law enforcement agency for guidance.
