Victorville Traffic Stop Leads to Recovery of Stolen Handgun

INCIDENT: PC 496(A) – Receiving Stolen Property
PC 25850(A) – Carrying a Loaded Firearm.
LOCATION: Village Drive / Mojave Drive, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Smajae Danage, 22-year-old male, Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Monday, June 8, 2026, at approximately 2:14 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a black, Mercedes Benz sedan, for California Vehicle Code violations.
During the inventory of the vehicle prior to towing, deputies located a 9-millimeter Smith and Wesson handgun, equipped with a loaded magazine. Further investigation revealed the firearm was reported stolen out of Victorville.
Smajae Danage was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 496(A) – Receiving Stolen Property, and P.C. 25850(A) – Carrying a Loaded Firearm.
