Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on gun charges following a traffic stop.
 
On June 5 at approximately 10:40 a.m., police were in the area of Vandever Avenue and Northeast Boulevard when they conducted a vehicle stop after observing a registration violation. Police found the driver, 42-year-old Christopher Charles, to be wanted on an unrelated matter. Officers also recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and an extended magazine, and took Charles into custody without incident.
 
Charles has been charged with the following offenses in addition to vehicle violations:

• Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Driving While Suspended or Revoked
