Wilmington Police make arrest in connection with May assault incident: 
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with an assault that took place in May.
On May 29 at approximately 11:29 p.m., police responded to the hospital in reference to a 55-year-old male subject who arrived on foot with serious injuries. Officers learned that the victim had been assaulted by a suspect armed with a baseball bat in the 400 block of North Scott Street, and the case was assigned to Detective Johnnie Everett of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective Everett identified 50-year-old Michael Johnson as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident on June 11 in the 400 block of North Lincoln Street with the assistance of the Uniformed Services Division and the Crisis Management Tactical Team.
Johnson has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
