Wilmington Police have arrested a juvenile on gun charges following an investigation.
On June 10 at approximately 2:49 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 900 block of Madison Street when they made contact with a male subject acting suspiciously. Police took the subject, a 17-year-old male, into custody without incident and recovered a 9mm handgun with no serial number in addition to ammunition and a 30-round extended magazine.
The 17-year-old male has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $14,000 cash-only bail.
