Traffic Enforcement Stop Uncovers Firearm, Narcotics, and Multiple Warrants on Two Subjects

INCIDENT: PC 29800(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm
H&S 11364.5(A) - Unlawful Possession/Sale of Drug Paraphernalia H&S 11377(A) - Possession of a Controlled Substance
PC 148.9(A) - Providing False Identification to Police Officer
LOCATION: Interstate 40 W Ramp / Needles Hwy, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Ian Ferguson, 33-years old, Resident of Kingman, AZ
Jeni Fox, 40-years-old, Resident of Mohave Valley, AZ
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at approximately 11:50 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/ Needles Police Department conducted a traffic enforcement stop near the Interstate 40 W ramp and Needles Hwy in the City of Needles.
During the stop, deputies contacted two occupants of the vehicle identified as Ian Ferguson and Jeni Fox. A records check revealed Ian Ferguson, a convicted felon, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Fox, the passenger, provided deputies with a false name in an attempt to avoid being arrested on multiple outstanding warrants.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a firearm, suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. Ferguson is a felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms. Ferguson was arrested for the outstanding warrant and on the following charges: PC 29800(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm, H&S 11377(A) -Possession of a Controlled Substance and H&S 11364.5(A) - Unlawful Possession/Sale of Drug Paraphernalia.
Fox was arrested for PC 148.9(A) - Providing False Identification to a Police Officer. Further investigation revealed Fox also had two out of county warrants from California jurisdictions and a fugitive warrant from Mohave County, AZ.
Both Ferguson and Fox were arrested without incident and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking.
Ferguson remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $80,000.00, awaiting a court hearing. Fox remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with no bail, awaiting extradition proceedings related to her outstanding warrants. This investigation remains ongoing.
