NHSA milling and paving in northwest Hoboken begins Monday, June 15; Overnight work expected; Plan ahead for traffic impacts
The North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA) is scheduled to begin milling, paving, and striping of its Phase 3 Infrastructure Project on Monday, June 15, marking the final phase of this work to upgrade underground infrastructure, including installing and connecting a high-level stormwater sewer system at ResilienCity Park. The project also includes transportation upgrades to improve safety and reduce street flooding in the area.
This work, which requires temporary traffic impacts, will primarily take place during the daytime hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, overnight work is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 15, and Wednesday, June 17, between the hours of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The project is anticipated to last approximately 13 working days and be completed by mid-July. No work will be scheduled on days that FIFA World Cup matches are played in New Jersey. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Anticipated road closures for the first week of this project, include:
- Overnight Monday, June 15, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- 16th Street from Willow Avenue to Jefferson Street

Tuesday, June 16 – No work
- Overnight Wednesday, June 17, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Jefferson Street from 15th Street to 16th Street
- Daytime Thursday, June 18, and Friday, June 19, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Adams Street between 15th and 16th Streets
- Grand Street between 15th and 16th Streets
- Clinton Street between 15th and 16th Streets
- Madison Street between 13th and 15th Street
Additional work segments, to be scheduled in upcoming weeks, include:
- Jefferson Street between 13th and 15th Streets
- Grand Street between 13th and 15th Streets
- Clinton Street between 14th and 15th Streets
- Clinton Street between 13th and 14th Streets
- Intersection of 13th and Jefferson Street
- 13th Street between Adams Street and Willow Avenue
- 15th Street between Adams Street and Willow Avenue
Residents are advised to follow posted parking restrictions and plan for temporary detours and traffic delays in affected areas. Hoboken Police will be on site during working hours to assist with safety and detours.
All road closures will be loaded into navigation apps, including WAZE and Google Maps, to assist with detours.
