Large Brawl Leads to Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest 
San Mateo, CA – On June 11, 2026, at approximately 9:55 p.m., officers from the San Mateo Police Department responded to the 400 block of E. Bellevue Avenue regarding a report of multiple subjects involved in a physical fight in the backyard of a private residence.
Upon arrival, officers learned that during the altercation, an adult male identified as Deyson Lopez Cardona allegedly struck another adult male multiple times in the head with an aluminum pole, causing significant injuries. A second adult male, identified as Abner Lopez Cardona, allegedly committed battery during the incident. The victim was medically evaluated at the scene and transported to a local hospital for additional treatment.
Based on probable cause established during the investigation, Deyson was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, and Abner was arrested for battery. Both were transported to the San Mateo County Jail, where they were booked on their respective charges.
