On Friday, June 12, 2026, at approximately 2:23 a.m., officers from South Gate Police Department responded to the 5800 block of Imperial Highway, South Gate, regarding a gunshot victim call for service.
Upon their arrival, they located a male Hispanic adult suffering from gunshot wounds. LA County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
During their preliminary investigation, Homicide Detectives learned the incident was not a random act and stemmed from an incident which occurred inside an establishment.
The suspect remains outstanding, however, there is no threat to the community.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are responding to assist South Gate Police Department with a shooting investigation. The incident was reported Friday, June 12, 2026, at approximately 2:23 a.m. in the 5800 block of Imperial Highway, in the city of South Gate.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
