On June 12, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Simi Valley Police Department officers responded to a local hospital regarding a juvenile who was exhibiting symptoms consistent with fentanyl exposure. The child received medical treatment and is currently in stable condition.

Officers and detectives conducted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Based on the evidence obtained, investigators determined the exposure occurred while the child was under the care and supervision of the child's father. The father was subsequently arrested and booked for felony child endangerment.

Child Protective Services was notified and is conducting a parallel investigation regarding the welfare and safety of the children involved.

The Simi Valley Police Department will not release information that could identify the children involved to protect their privacy and welfare, as required by California law.
