1. Assault with a Deadly Weapon on an Officer (2126) Hunter Street and Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, Seaport District
Officers responded to multiple reports of a subject armed with a rifle in the listed area. Officers located the suspect, who brandished two metal baton-like objects at the officers and resisted their attempts to detain him. Force was used to take the suspect into custody. While attempting to handcuff the suspect, he struck a CHP officer with a baton, and he kicked another officer while being escorted to a patrol vehicle. The CHP Officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated by medics. The other officer was uninjured. ARRESTED: Juan Garcia-Llanos, 32, for assault with a deadly weapon on an officer, battery on an officer, and resisting arrest.
2...Robbery (2145) 2100 Block of Fontana Avenue, Civic District
The female victim, 40, was walking in the area when she was approached by the suspects. Suspect #1 attempted to grab her gold chain. Suspect #2 acted as a lookout. The victim grabbed onto her chain, and the suspect pulled out a gun from his waistband. Suspect #1 struck the victim in the face. The victim ran towards a neighbor's house, and the suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction. SUSPECTS: Hispanic male and Black male.
3. Weapons Arrest, Resisting Arrest (2211) 5700 Block of Lorraine Avenue, Valley Oak District
Officers responded to the listed area on a report of a suspect spray painting the bathroom wall. On arrival, the suspect fled from officers. Officers chased the suspect and took him to the ground. A search incident to arrest revealed the suspect had a loaded handgun in his possession. ARRESTED: Hispanic male juvenile, for weapons charges, resisting arrest, and vandalism.
4. Homicide (0015) 2100 Block of Battlement Drive, Seaport District
The male victim, 53, was in an argument with the known suspect when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him in the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Detectives responded and assumed the investigation.
