INCIDENT: PC 245(A)(1) - Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Not a Firearm)
LOCATION: 140000 block of Del Rey Drive, Big River, CA
SUSPECT(S): Bonnie Couch, 69 Years Old, Resident of Big River, CA
VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL
SUMMARY: On Thursday, June 11, 2026, at approximately 2:20 p.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 140000 block of Del Rey Drive in Big River reference an assault that just occurred.
During the investigation, deputies determined that the suspect, identified as Bonnie Couch, intentionally assaulted the victim by striking the victim's vehicle multiple times with her own vehicle. Investigators further determined that, after the victim exited his vehicle, Couch attempted to strike him with her vehicle before fleeing the scene. Couch was located and apprehended a short time later without incident.
Couch was subsequently arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for booking. Couch remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $40,000.00, awaiting a court hearing. This investigation is ongoing.
