Three (3) Arrested and 17 Citations Issued at the Redwood City DUI Checkpoint

Redwood City, California – On 6/13/2026, and 6/14/2026 there were 5 people who were assessed for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and one (1) person was arrested for a DUI. There was also one (1) person arrested for driving with a suspended drivers license, and one (1) person was arrested for driving on the wrong side of highway at the DUI checkpoints.

The DUI checkpoint was held at Woodside Rd and Carolina Ave from 8:00 p.m. to 01:30 a.m.

There were 15 drivers who were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed, and 2 other drivers were cited for various moving violations. There were approximately 597 vehicles contacted/screened at the checkpoints.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of the DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Cannabis Grant Program.
