The 18-year-old male gunshot victim in this incident, identified as Amari Brown of Newark, has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Criminal Mischief (Under $1,000)
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and given $660,400 cash-only bail in reference to the above charges. He remains in the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction.
This incident remains under investigation and further details will be released when possible.

Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred yesterday at approximately 6:39 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 3rd Street.
Police located an 18-year-old male gunshot victim who arrived at the hospital in stable condition, as well as a 4-year-old gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Through the course of a preliminary investigation, it was determined that the 18-year-old gunshot victim – who was found to be wanted on an unrelated matter – had exchanged gunfire with multiple unknown subjects, and charges against the 18-year-old in relation to this incident are pending.
