06-16-2026: Pride Flag Incident
On the morning of Monday, June 1st, the Borough of Waldwick displayed the Pride Flag on the fence near Route 17, as we have done in previous years, reaffirming our commitment to supporting Pride Month.
It is with great disappointment that we report the flag was removed and stolen sometime last night.
The Borough of Waldwick strongly condemns this act, which stands in direct opposition to our community's values. This behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect who we are as a community. To whoever is responsible — this is not the Waldwick we know, and your actions are a disservice to our neighbors and residents. I have personally arranged for a replacement flag, which will be reinstated in the same location by tomorrow morning.
Our Police Department has opened an investigation into this matter. In the meantime, I urge whoever is responsible to return the flag to the bench outside the Administration Building no later than Friday night.
If you have any information that may assist in this matter, please contact the Waldwick Police Department at 201-652-5700.
