SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, deputies from the Hesperia Station were dispatched for a report of a vehicle fire at the Pilot truck stop in Hesperia. When deputies arrived, they observed two vehicles fully engulfed in flames. Bystanders alerted the deputies to a female at the scene who was later identified as Nicole Najlis.
The victim and owner of one of the vehicles confirmed Nicole Najlis purposely set his vehicle on fire after a dispute between the two on their trip from San Diego to Las Vegas. Najlis poured fuel from a can into the trunk area of the car, then ignited the fuel by an unknown means. Two other friends were asleep in the vehicle at the time the fire was ignited.
