**UPDATE: Detour on Dietz St - 6/18/26**
On Thursday, June 18, 2026, beginning at 7:00 am, there will be a detour on Dietz Street between Walnut Street and Center Street to allow the City’s contractor, Vacri Construction to connect a new watermain to the existing watermain on Dietz Street at the end of Washington Street. Signage will be in place to direct traffic around this portion of the street.
The sidewalks in the immediate area will be closed to allow room for materials and equipment. Local traffic will be allowed to access their residences from either end of the street.
Work will continue until completed and planned to be completed by 3:30 pm. However, in the event that the work isn’t completed by the end of the day, the detour will remain in effect on Friday, June 19th, 2026.
Avoid the area if possible and use alternate routes. Please exercise extreme caution and obey all signs, barricades and cones.
The City will issue periodic project updates or changes via Nixle PSA as needed.
