800 Monroe Resiliency Park public engagement session announced

Hoboken residents are invited to community engagement sessions for the 800 Monroe Resiliency Park project on Thursday, June 25, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sessions will occur simultaneously at the Columbus Park Tennis Courts and the Church Square Park Dog Park.

City staff and the design team will be in attendance to discuss the park’s planned tennis courts and dog runs. Residents are invited to provide input on their preferred designs and amenities for these specific features, which will be constructed as part of the future 800 Monroe Resiliency Park. The project team encourages residents most interested in the new dog runs to meet at Church Square Park, and residents most interested in the new tennis courts to meet at Columbus Park, although feedback on both features will be accepted at both locations.

Once constructed, the 800 Monroe Resiliency Park project will have the capacity to store over 430,000 gallons of stormwater during rainfall events to mitigate flooding and feature recreational amenities including three tennis courts, plaza and garden spaces, dog runs, an open lawn, and fitness equipment.

In 2025, a final concept design was approved by the Hoboken City Council. The project team is now preparing engineering and development plans, further detailing both the park’s recreational and resiliency features, with groundbreaking anticipated for 2027.
