Advisory

Air Quality Advisory Due to Boyle Heights Fire – Shelter in Place Recommended

Due to a large commercial structure fire in the Boyle Heights area, smoke is impacting air quality in portions of the San Gabriel Valley.

As a precaution, the City of San Gabriel is recommending residents shelter in place and take steps to reduce exposure to smoke and poor air quality. Residents are encouraged to:

  • Stay indoors if possible.
  • Keep windows and doors closed.
  • Turn off air conditioning units, fans, and ventilation systems that draw outside air into your home.
  • Limit outdoor activities until air quality improves.

These precautions are especially important for children, older adults, and individuals with asthma, respiratory conditions, or other health concerns.

At this time, there is no threat to the City of San Gabriel. This advisory is being issued solely as a precaution due to smoke and reduced air quality in the region.

The City will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary. Please stay informed and take appropriate precautions to protect your health.
