On June 17, 2026, at approximately 6:00 PM, Simi Valley Police Department Officers were dispatched to a disturbance at Target, which is located at 51 Tierra Rejada Rd. Simi Valley. The initial caller advised that a male subject had entered the store and immediately began “choking” a female customer who was standing at a checkout counter. The store’s Loss Prevention Officer, as well as several bystanders attempted to help the female victim at which point the male subject, later identified as Rejean Tabor a 34-year-old (resident of Simi Valley), began attacking those attempting to assist, which included a juvenile.
Based on the violent assault occurring, Target employees began an emergency evacuation of the store as Officers arrived on scene. Officers immediately entered the store and located Tabor, who had now begun throwing items in the grocery section, where he was taken into custody without incident. Several customers, including the juvenile, sustained minor injuries and were later treated and released from the scene. The female subject that was initially attacked by Tabor was transported by family to a local hospital where she remains in stable condition. It was later discovered that the initial female victim did not know Tabor.
Tabor was ultimately arrested and booked at Ventura County Main Jail for the following charges; Attempted Murder, Burglary, Assault, Battery and Cruelty or Unjustifiable pain to a minor.
