...FIRE WEATHER WATCH FOR LIGHTNING... .An upper trough from the Pacific is forecast inland across northern California Friday, southeast Oregon Friday night, and southwest Idaho overnight through Saturday. The trough will bring a 30 to 60 percent chance of thunderstorms with potential for new fire starts due to lightning. Initial storms may be dry with strong gusty outflow winds, especially in southeast Oregon, but storms overnight through Saturday should be wetter, especially in Idaho. The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Fire Weather Watch for lightning, which is in effect from Friday evening through Saturday morning.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 423 Owyhee Mountains and 426 Southern Highlands.
* TIMING...From Friday evening through Saturday morning.
* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.
* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 45 mph.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
