🎆As we continue to educate the public leading up to the 4th of July on the illegal use of fireworks here in the City of San Mateo, our next Real Talk San Mateo episode will be focused on the topic.

Join us, City Council Member Nicole Fernandez, and Deputy Fire Marshal Melinda Martin as we discuss enforcement, safety, and respect for our neighbors when it comes to illegal fireworks use.

Please DO NOT call 911 to report illegal fireworks (unless there is an actual emergency related to them). Remember, fireworks are dangerous and can injure 🤕 or start fires 🔥.

➡️Beginning Friday, June 19th, Firework Enforcement Details begin and officers will be dedicated to proactively enforcing the ordinance and all laws pertaining to illegal firework use. Confiscations/seizures will be made and citations/fines will be issued.
