The Folsom Police Department will be conducting Officer Training at Alder Creek Elementary School at 4545 Old Ranch Way, on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 
School is not in session, and no students will be present during the training.
 
During this time, community members may notice an increased law enforcement presence on and around the campus, including uniformed officers, Folsom Police vehicles, K9 teams, and the department's Armored Rescue Vehicle.
 
This training will consist of scenario-based exercises designed to enhance officer readiness and ensure our personnel remain prepared to respond to critical incidents. As part of the training, officers may be observed moving throughout the campus carrying training firearms specifically designed for law enforcement training and incapable of firing live ammunition. However, simulated gun fire may be heard during the exercise. 
 
For the safety of participants and the public, the school campus and parking lot will be closed to the public for the duration of the training. Signs stating "Police Training in Progress" and "Police K9 Training in Progress" will be posted throughout the area.
 
Please do not be alarmed by the increased police activity. This is a planned training event and an important component of maintaining the high level of service our community expects and deserves.
