Two Vehicle Traffic Crash in Victorville Claims Life of Passenger While Several Others were Transported to Hospital; Investigation Ongoing



DATE/TIME: Friday, June 19, 2026/ 1528 hours

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

LOCATION: Village Drive / Amargosa Road, Victorville

SUSPECT(S): Adult Male, Pending Identification

VICTIM(S): Adult Male, Deceased and Pending Next of Kin Notification


SUMMARY: 
On Friday, June 19, 2026, at about 3:28 p.m, deputies from the Victorville Police Station, along with Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel, responded to the area of Village Drive and Amargosa Road, Victorville, for a two-vehicle unknown injury crash. 

It was determined the crash occurred on Village Drive in the number one eastbound lane, between Llanada Avenue and Amargosa Road. A black Toyota Camry, drove eastbound in the number one lane on Village Drive from Llanada Avenue and for reasons still under investigation, a blue Hyundai Elantra, drove westbound in the number one eastbound lane on Village Drive. The vehicles collided head on in the number one eastbound lane of Village Drive. The male passenger from the blue Hyundai Elantra was pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver of the Hyundai Elantra, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and later flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. An unidentified female passenger of the Hyundai Elantra was ejected from the vehicle, transported to a Providence Saint Mary Medical Center and later flown to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Two additional children from the Hyundai Elantra were flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center as a precaution, with non-lifethreatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota Camry sustained minor injuries and was transported to Providence Saint Mary Medical Center in stable condition. 

An open container of an alcoholic beverage was located in the center console of the Hyundai Elantra.  The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) arrived on scene and conducted the investigation.

Village Drive between Llanada Avenue and Amargosa Road was closed off in both directions for several hours.
