Temporary Traffic and Trail Impacts on June 25: Sibley Street and Glenn Drive Area

The Folsom Police Department, in partnership with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, will conduct an encampment cleanup operation on state-owned property behind the 1100 block of Sibley Street on Thursday, June 25.

Due to limited vehicle access and challenging terrain, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office Air Operations Unit will assist with the cleanup effort by using a helicopter to safely remove debris and materials from the site and transport them to a designated landing zone near Bidwell Street and Folsom Boulevard.

Residents and businesses in the area should expect increased helicopter activity throughout the day. The helicopter will operate at low altitude and will be visible and audible for several hours while materials are transported from the cleanup site.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC AND TRAIL IMPACTS
Thursday, June 25, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Glenn Drive

  • Traffic on Glenn Drive between 1000 Glenn Drive and 950 Glenn Drive will be intermittently closed to traffic between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Temporary traffic holds will occur as needed to allow the safe passage of the helicopter while transporting debris and other materials between the cleanup site and the designated landing zone.
  • Access to businesses on Glenn Drive will be maintained. Traffic control personnel will be on site to assist motorists.

These temporary traffic impacts are necessary to provide a safe flight path for helicopter operations and protect motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and nearby businesses.

Humbug-Willow Creek Trail
Closed to all bicycle and pedestrian traffic between Sibley Street and Coolidge Drive.

The City of Folsom appreciates the community's patience and cooperation as regional partners work together to safely complete this cleanup operation.
