Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on gun charges.
On June 17th at approximately 7:43 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the area of West 23rd and North Jessup Streets in reference to a wanted subject. Upon arrival, officers observed 23-year-old Dayvon Gregory in the 2300 block of North Jessup Street. Officers confirmed Gregory had an outstanding warrant out of the Wilmington Police Department. Officers attempted to make contact with Gregory, at which time he fled the area on foot. A short time later, Gregory was taken into custody without further incident. Officers recovered a loaded .9mm handgun that was reported stolen at the time.
Gregory has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrant:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $9,000 unsecured bail.
