Particle Pollution Advisory Extended Due to Boyle Heights Warehouse Fire
PARTICLE POLLUTION ADVISORY EXTENDED
The South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) extended the Particle Pollution Advisory until 12:30 PM on Tuesday, June 23. The smoke from a large structure fire in Boyle Heights that started around 2:30 PM on June 17 is continuing to impact air quality in the San Gabriel Valley. A particle pollution advisory indicates that fine particle levels (like smoke or dust) threaten to exceed health standards. There is no immediate danger to our community. However, as a precaution, individuals with pre-existing medical or respiratory conditions are encouraged to remain indoors and to keep all windows and doors closed. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates should conditions change.
