SUSPECT(S): Jonathan Martinez, 40-year-old male, Resident of Rancho Cucamonga
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, June 22, 2026, at approximately 1:07 a.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station were actively patrolling in the area of Fulton Ct., and Utica Ave., when they conducted a proactive pedestrian check.
Deputies contacted the suspect, later identified as Jonathan Martinez. During the investigation, deputies learned Martinez had an active warrant for his arrest. During a search of his belongings, deputies located a loaded firearm and suspected methamphetamine in Martinez’s backpack.
Through further investigation, deputies learned Martinez is a documented gang member, and a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
Martinez was later arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC29800(A)(1)- Felon in possession of a firearm, and HS11370.1(A)- Possession of a controlled substance while armed.
