Flood Advisory until 02:15AM Tuesday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Bergen, Essex and Passaic and southeast New York, including the following counties, Bronx, Nassau, New York (Manhattan), Queens and Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 215 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 112 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Yonkers, Paterson, New Rochelle, Flushing, Passaic, Mott Haven, Bloomfield, East Tremont, Hackensack, Bergenfield, Paramus, Lyndhurst, Rutherford, Ridgefield, Great Neck, Laguardia Airport, Throgs Neck Bridge, Harlem, Riverdale and Bayside. - This includes the following Event Locations... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
