Burglary Investigation Leads to Arrest of Two Suspects and Recovery of Stolen Property

SUSPECT(S): David Sanchez, 48-year-old, Resident of Chino Hills
Joseph Hernandez, 32-year-old, Resident of Chino Hills

SUMMARY: On June 2, 2026, at approximately 3:45 a.m., the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Hindu Temple was burglarized, resulting in the theft of approximately $5,000 in tools and equipment, including a Hilti jackhammer and a Milwaukee Packout toolbox.
Through the course of the investigation, investigators identified two suspects, Joseph Hernandez and David Sanchez, in connection with the burglary. Hernandez and Sanchez were contacted and taken into custody without incident.
Investigators served a search warrant as part of the investigation, resulting in the recovery of stolen property related to the burglary. Investigators also recovered additional stolen property connected to other theft investigations throughout the Inland Empire, as well as a stolen handgun and an unserialized handgun.
Joseph Hernandez and David Sanchez were arrested for burglary, conspiracy, and other related charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
