Suspect Demands Money After Hacking into Hesperia Business Website

SUSPECT: Rusty Estrella, 39-year-old resident of San Jacinto

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, detectives from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant at the residence of Rusty Estrella in the city of San Jacinto. Through investigation, Estrella was identified as the suspect in a computer crime case that targeted a local business in Hesperia.
The Hesperia business had reported on May 26, 2026, that their website had been hacked and they were sent a message demanding $1,000.00 to be sent or their client’s information would be released to the dark web.
During the search of Estrella’s residence, evidence of the crime was located. Estrella was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center for PC 524 - Attempted Extortion, and PC 502 (C) - Unauthorized Computer Access.
