Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Unserialized Firearm, Silencer, and Large-Capacity Magazines

VC 23152(A) – Driving Under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol
VC 23152(B) – Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.08 Percent of Higher
PC 647(F) – Public Intoxication
LOCATION: Nova Lane / Rising Moon Way, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Adrian Penland, 41-year-old, Resident of Phelan
Ricardo Landeros, 42-year-old, Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Friday, June 19, 2026, at approximately 2:19 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station initiated a traffic stop on a 2006 Infiniti for multiple California Vehicle Code violations near Nova Lane and Rising Moon Way.
Deputies contacted the driver, Adrian Penland, who displayed objective signs of intoxication. During the investigation deputies contacted passenger Ricardo Landeros, who displayed objective signs of intoxication and was found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol.
During an inventory search of the vehicle, deputies located an unserialized firearm with a threaded barrel, two large-capacity magazines, and a firearm silencer.
Adrian Penland was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for PC 30605(A) – Possession of an Assault Weapon, PC 32310(A) – Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine, PC 33410 – Possession of a Firearm Silencer, PC 29180(C) – Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, VC 23152(A) – Driving Under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol, and VC 23152(B) – Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.08 Percent of Higher.
Ricardo Landeros was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for PC 30605(A) – Possession of an Assault Weapon, PC 32310(A) – Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine, PC 33410 – Possession of a Firearm Silencer, PC 29180(C) – Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and PC 647(F) – Public Intoxication.
