Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., will kick off the 2026 Public Safety Run with the Director event at 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the 5th Precinct, located at 480 Clinton Avenue.
Members of the community are cordially invited to join Police, Firefighters, members of the Office of Emergency Management, and the Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery for this fun activity, aimed at maintaining our physical and mental well-being and strengthening our relationships.
Runners ages 18+ are welcome to join us by simply throwing on their activewear and sneakers for a 1.5-mile run, held at a different public safety location at 8 a.m. each Wednesday until Labor Day.
Please arrive at each run by 7:45 a.m. for a pre-run stretch. Kindly consult with your doctor before joining the run if you have any medical concerns.
