INCIDENT: Single Vehicle, Major Injury Traffic Crash
LOCATION: Apple Valley Road / Yucca Loma Road, Apple Valley, CA
VEHICLE 1: 2007 Silver Honda Civic
DRIVER: Anthony Astorga, 26-year-old male, resident of Hesperia, CA
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at approximately 11:29 PM, deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department Protection District and American Medical Response (AMR) responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred on Apple Valley Road, north of Yucca Loma Road, in the town of Apple Valley.
Through investigation, deputies determined a silver Honda Accord, driven by Anthony Astorga, traveled southbound on Apple Valley Road approaching Yucca Loma Road. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a residential block wall on the west side of the roadway. Astorga was ejected from the vehicle and suffered major injuries. Astorga was transported by AMR to a local hospital, where he was later flown to a trauma center for increased medical care. Astorga remains in critical but stable condition.
An investigator from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) arrived and is conducting the investigation. Apple Valley Road was closed between the intersections of Yucca Loma Road and Siesta Drive for approximately three hours while deputies processed the scene for evidence and attempted to locate witnesses.
