Independence Day holiday to alter Newton trash pickup schedule 
Newton City offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day, which will also alter the trash pickup schedule. Trash normally picked up on Friday will be picked up on Thursday, July 2. Trash normally collected on Thursday will be picked up on Wednesday, July 1. Please make sure to have trash bins at the curb before 7 a.m. on collection day.
