Narrative:
|
During the first week of June 2026, deputies assigned to the Camarillo Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) along with Camarillo Patrol Deputies initiated an investigation of a City of Camarillo resident identified as, (S) Robert De Los Santos. During the investigation it was learned De Los Santos had a lengthy criminal history to include the illicit sales and distribution of fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin. It was further learned, De Los Santos had active Ventura County Superior Court ordered search terms for his residence and person.
DEU and Camarillo Patrol deputies subsequently conducted a search of De Los Santos’ residence in the 700 Block of Mission Drive in the City of Camarillo. During the search, deputies located 21 gross grams of heroin, 8 gross grams of cocaine, a working digital scale, and various packaging materials commonly used in the distribution of illicit narcotics. De Los Santos was not present at the time of the search; however, based on evidence located at the scene, deputies developed probable cause to arrest De Los Santos for a violation of California Health and Safety Code Section 11351(a) – [Felony Possession for Sale of a Controlled Substance].
As a result of this investigation, DEU Deputies began working with multiple units within the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office to include the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) and the Ventura County Combined Agency Team. Based on evidence located during the initial investigation, detectives initiated a secondary investigation regarding De Los Santos’ criminal behavior.
During the fourth week of June 2026, detectives authored a search warrant for De Los Santos’ residence, vehicles, property, and person. This search warrant was subsequently signed by a magistrate of the Ventura County Superior Court.
On 06/26/2026, detectives from various units within the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office served the signed Ventura County Search Warrant at De Los Santos’ residence in the 700 Block of Mission Drive in the City of Camarillo.
During the service, De Los Santos complied with orders, exited his residence, and was arrested for a violation of California Health and Safety Code Section 11351(a) – [Felony Possession for Sale of a Controlled Substance]. Detectives subsequently searched the residence and surrounding property. As a result, detectives located over a quarter pound of cocaine (148 gross grams). The evidence located during the search furthered detectives’ beliefs that De Los Santos is an illicit narcotics dealer operating within the City of Camarillo and the County of Ventura.
De Los Santos was subsequently booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
