INCIDENT: Motorcyclist Leads Deputies on Pursuit; Convicted Felon Found with Suspected Narcotics and Firearms
LOCATION: Oakwood Avenue / Harding Street, Hesperia
SUSPECT: Cristian Duran, 32-year-old, Resident of Hesperia
SUMMARY: On June 10, 2026, at about 3:19 a.m., Deputy Van Brimmer with the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station observed a motorcycle without a rear license plate traveling south on Maple Avenue. A traffic enforcement stop was initiated at which time the motorcycle failed to yield, and fled at a high rate of speed.
The motorcycle eventually crashed, at which time the driver was detained and identified as Cristian Duran. During a search of Duran's belongings, two pistols (one confirmed stolen), along with suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl were located.
Duran was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for VC 2800.2(A) Evasion of a police officer / disregard for safety, HS 11370.1(A) Possession of possible controlled substance while armed, PC 29800(A)(1) Felon in possession of a firearm, and PC 30305(A)(1) Prohibited possession of ammunition.
