Volunteers still needed for the 4th of July Celebration
Volunteers Still Needed for the July 4th Celebration
The Village’s July 4th Celebration has provided joy to our community for over 75 years. But, it is a community effort and we need volunteers in order to continue with all of the wonderful activities we’ve had in the past. The Shorewood Hills EMS & Fire Association members remain the backbone of the event, doing much of the preparatory work for the Fireworks Show, Independence Day Dance, Parade, Water Slides, Games, Waterfights, etc. But, we need some more bodies to help with all of these events. If you or someone you know is interested in helping with the fireworks and/or the general celebration activities, please follow the QR codes (or links) below to a SignUpGenius site.
July 3 Dance & July 4 Celebration
July 4 Fireworks Show
Our volunteer needs range from a fairly limited commitment (an hour or two on July 3rd or 4th), all the way to helping with the fireworks (which may take some extra training). Some of the activities you can sign up for are serving beer/soda at the Independence Day Dance (July 3) and on July 4th, filling helium balloons, helping with the Stage Games (ages 7-12), helping with the Young Kids Games (ages 6 and under), helping with the Water Slides, helping with the Egg Toss, helping with the Waterfights, cleaning up after activities, riding a golf cart at the fireworks for crowd control/collecting donations, and as always, cleanup on the golf course on July 5.
If you are interested in helping with the Fireworks Show or have any questions about any of the activities, please reach out to Erik Johnson (EJ) at [email protected].
