The Borough of Helmetta would like to advise residents that the Lake Avenue railroad crossing will be closed for emergency surface repairs beginning Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. The work is expected to be completed and the railroad crossing reopened by Friday, July 3, 2026, at approximately 5:00 a.m.
The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic during this time to ensure the safety of both the workers and the public. Detours will be in place, and motorists are asked to follow all posted detour signs and allow additional travel time.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation as these necessary repairs are completed to improve the safety and reliability of the railroad crossing.
