Rohnert Park DPS Arrests Felony Suspect Following Domestic Disturbance and Vehicle Pursuit

Rohnert Park, CA - On 06/27/26, at approximately 0020 hours, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 6000 block of Country Club Drive. The caller reported that Alfredo Brito had left the residence following a physical altercation with his wife.

Brito, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms under California Penal Code 29800(a)(1). The caller advised dispatch that Brito was in possession of a firearm when he left the residence in a black Ram truck.

Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety patrol officers responded to the scene and began their investigation. Officers were initially unable to locate Brito. The Flock Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system was utilized and indicated that Brito had left Sonoma County.
Officers attempted to contact and negotiate with Brito by telephone; however, he was uncooperative. During these communications, Brito stated he was “ready to die tonight.”

Information regarding the incident was shared with allied law enforcement agencies in the region.

Shortly before 1000 hours, the Flock ALPR system alerted that Brito had returned to Rohnert Park. Just before 1200 hours, a patrol sergeant located Brito driving in the 6000 block of Country Club Drive and attempted a high-risk traffic stop as Brito pulled to the shoulder. Brito fled, and a vehicle pursuit ensued.

The pursuit traveled through residential streets before entering Rohnert Park Expressway and ultimately ending on San Simeon Drive, where Brito stopped and was taken into custody without further incident.
Brito was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on the following charge:

• 2800.2(a) California Vehicle Code – Evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety (felony)

Additional charges pending.
