The NWS has Cooper County under an EXTREME HEAT WARNING until 9pm Friday. Heat index of up to 111*F expected. Nighttime temperatures will be around 75*F.
Stay Prepared: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or late evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke. The elderly and young children are most prone to heat related illnesses.
