The Healdsburg Fire Department, with support from CAL FIRE, will conduct a planned prescribed burn beginning at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, July 1 in the foothills above the Villa Commons neighborhood, northeast of March Avenue.

Residents should expect to see smoke throughout the day. This is a planned vegetation management project to reduce wildfire risk and improve community safety.

Please do not call 9-1-1 to report smoke or fire from this area unless you observe an emergency outside the planned burn area.

Those sensitive to smoke should keep windows and doors closed, set HVAC systems to recirculate, and limit prolonged outdoor activity.

The burn is weather dependent and may be postponed if conditions are not suitable.
