Hot weather can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses, especially for older adults, young children, people with chronic medical conditions, outdoor workers, and pets.
Please remember to:
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.
- Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, typically between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and use sunscreen when outdoors.
- Spend time in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
- Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle, even for a few minutes.
- Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may need assistance during the heat.
