Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 11:48 pm in the 1900 block of West 4th Street.
Police located a 33-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Responding officers located a suspect, 30-year-old Jonathan Colon, and took him into custody without incident. Police recovered a loaded .380-caliber handgun.
Colon has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $130,000 cash-only bail.
This incident remains under investigation and further details will be released when possible.
