On June 30, 2026, the National Weather Service issued an Extreme Heat Watch for portions of New Hampshire from Wednesday afternoon through Friday evening. Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with heat index values ranging from 100° to over 110°. In anticipation of the forecasted heat, the City of Somersworth will open the following locations as cooling centers: Somersworth City Hall, 1 Government Way — July 1–2, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Those in need of additional cooling center locations should call 211 for assistance. |

Somersworth Public Library, 25 Main Street — July 1, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; July 2, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Somersworth Fire Department, 195 Maple Street — July 3, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
