DETAILS:
On June 29, 2026, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Amarillo Police officers responded to the 1200 block of Jasmine Street on a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a 14-year-old male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
During the investigation, detectives identified another 13-year-old male juvenile as the suspect. The suspect was located at a residence and taken into custody without incident.
The juvenile suspect was booked into the Youth Center and charged with manslaughter.
Because this incident involves juveniles, no additional information will be released at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
