Repeat Visit to Victim's Home Ends in Arrest for Alleged Burglary and Battery
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at approximately 10:19 a.m.

LOCATION: 1900 Block of Erin Drive, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Matthew Fulks, 23-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at approximately 10:19 a.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 1900 block of Erin Drive reference a report of an unwanted person.
Upon arrival, deputies located and detained Matthew Fulks. During the investigation deputies learned that at approximately 4:00 a.m., the previous day, Fulks had unlawfully entered the victim's residence by climbing through a window. Once inside, he attempted to steal some of the victim's personal identification documents. The victim awoke, confronted Fulks and chased him from the residence before he could leave with the property.
On the following day, Fulks returned to the victim's residence and persuaded the victim to hand him her cell phone. After obtaining the phone, Fulks refused to return it, resulting in a physical struggle over the device. During the altercation, a relative of the victim intervened and assisted in retrieving the cell phone.
Deputies took Fulks into custody without incident. Fulks was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $85,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
